June 23-30, 2018
$200.00 per person (family rates are available for families with small children). The registration deadline for this year's trip has now passed.
Volunteers provide their own transportation. Several families plan to drive as a “caravan,” leaving around noon on June 22 and driving about halfway. Regardless of how you travel, plan to arrive no later than 6 pm on June 23.
Church members’ homes, possibly some in fellowship hall rooms, etc. Campers and RVs are always an option for those with that capability.
This is a family-friendly mission trip! Younger children are essential in helping to keep the team hydrated and fueled with snacks, and there will be other activities for them as well. However, no one under the age of 18 may operate power-driven equipment or be on the roof at any time. Children under age 16 cannot be around any forklifts or cranes and must be accompanied by parent or grandparent while on the job.
Nature of Work
We’ll be working on a 20,000 sq ft metal building, similar to last year, although interior walls will be framed in wood instead of metal. Half the church will have a second floor for classrooms and meeting space. Likely tasks may include electrical and/or plumbing rough-in, hanging sheetrock, and installing insulation.
